my story

OKAY, SO HERE'S HOW WE ACTUALLY GOT HERE...

MILF Rodeo didn't start with a cute logo or a trucker hat.

It actually started about six years ago when I was 28, had just had my second baby, was climbing the corporate ladder, and could feel myself standing at this weird fork in the road.

And I was confused.

Like... really confused.

I had worked so hard in my career. I wanted the senior title. I wanted to keep climbing. I wanted to make a difference. I wanted to be successful.

But I also had these two tiny humans at home who had completely changed what success even meant to me.

My husband was a LA City fireman at the time, going through his own stuff at work. I had two babies under two. The world felt weird. Work was crazy. And I remember coming back from maternity leave at five months postpartum and just feeling... different.

Something in me had shifted.

I was fighting so hard for this promotion and I remember starting to ask myself:

Okay, but what am I actually fighting for?

More hours?

More responsibility?

More of myself poured into a company that, at the end of the day, wasn't sitting around thinking about what I wanted my life to look like ten years from now?

And to be fair, I had absolutely no boundaries.

Like zero. 😂

But nobody had created those boundaries for me because I hadn't created them for myself.

I wanted it all.

I just hadn't stopped long enough to ask myself what "having it all" actually meant to me.

And THAT question stuck with me.

Because at the same time, I loved being a mom.

Like, really loved it.

And I almost felt weird admitting how much I loved it because so many conversations around motherhood felt like they had to go one direction or the other.

Either motherhood was the greatest gift ever and you were supposed to soak up every second...

or we were talking about how hard it was and how we'd lost ourselves.

And somehow neither one felt like my whole truth.

Because I could love being a mom more than anything and still have suffered through postpartum depression twice.

I could be incredibly grateful for my life and still have days where I didn't know what was happening to me.

I could want to pour into my family and still be ambitious.

I could love my husband and my kids fiercely and still need something that was mine.

I could be happy...

and still be figuring some stuff out.

And when I went looking for women to talk about that with, I just couldn't find somewhere that felt like me.

I didn't want another place telling me what kind of mom I should be.

I wanted somewhere I could say the TMI thing.

Where I could say, "Okay, does anyone else feel like this?"

Where I wasn't too much.

Where we could talk about our marriages, careers, bodies, babies, friendships, money, faith, dreams, postpartum, sex, the ridiculous thing our kid did that morning... literally all of it.

And nobody was trying to fix anybody.

We were just women sitting on the proverbial couch saying:

Same. I've been there. Here's what I'm learning.

I think, without realizing it, that was the beginning of MILF Rodeo.

But I wasn't ready to create it yet.

It took me six more years.

Six more years of motherhood. Marriage. Career changes. Hard seasons. Really freaking beautiful seasons. Questioning myself. Trusting myself. Getting things wrong. Learning what matters to me. Letting go of things that don't.

And most importantly, realizing that I'm probably never going to arrive at some final, perfectly evolved version of myself.

I'm always going to be becoming.

And I actually really love that now.

I don't need to label every season I'm in.

I don't need to rush through the hard ones so I can get back to the "good" version of my life.

I don't need to fix every part of myself.

Sometimes a season is just a season.

You embrace it. You learn from it. You let it change you. And you keep riding.

That's the rodeo.

And somewhere along the way, my definition of "having it all" changed too.

It's not doing everything.

It's knowing what I actually give an F____ about.

My family. My faith. My people. The life we're creating. The memories we're making. The things that light me up. And being deeply, ridiculously grateful to God that I get to live any of it in the first place.

That's where the name finally makes sense.

MILF RODEO = MOTHERS INTENTIONALLY LIVING F______.

The F is blank because life keeps changing.

Maybe this season you're living faithfully.

Maybe you're being fearless.

Maybe you're finding your way, feeling fulfilled, focusing on your family, or just freaking figuring it out.

Your F gets to evolve because you do.

But underneath all of it is one question I've been asking myself since I was that 28-year-old mom standing at a fork in the road:

WHAT DO I ACTUALLY GIVE AN F____ ABOUT?

And six years later, I think I finally know.

The good stuff.

That's what MILF Rodeo is.

It's not a place for perfect motherhood.

It's not a place to fix you.

It's a place that I hope feels like home.

Where we can be obsessed with our kids and still talk about ourselves.

Where we can be grateful and still admit when something is hard.

Where faith and fun and motherhood and ambition and messy buns and really big dreams can all sit at the same table.

Where we can learn from each other without comparing ourselves to each other.

And where maybe, just maybe, we remind each other to stop waiting for the perfect season and realize...

We're already living the good stuff.

So pull up a seat.

Give us the TMI.

Welcome to the Rodeo. ♡
